Business and Professional Women's Society
The B&P began as the Business and Professional Circle in 1961 under the Division of the Women’s Mission Society. In 1962, it became an auxiliary of the church and changed its name to the Business and Professional Women’s Society. Membership in B & P is open to ALL members of Allen Temple Baptist Church
The purpose of the Business and Professional Women’s Society is to serve and further the works of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through benevolent and charitable activities, and to raise funds for scholarships to further the education of the youth of Allen Temple Baptist Church.
The founding women of the Business and Professional Women’s Society (B&P) saw the need to help with the education of the youth of Allen Temple Baptist Church. We were granted the sole privilege by the church to raise funds for scholarships. To date, the Business and Professional Women’s Society (B&P) has raised more than $750,000 for Scholarships.
Scholarships are awarded annually on the second Sunday in June. The deadline for the submission of applications is the 4th Friday in April.
The main fundraising activities include:
- A Fashion Show and Dinner held annually on the fourth Sunday in April
- A Holiday Event in December

The Business and Professional Women’s Society is dedicated to raising scholarship funds for our youth. The Fashion Show and Dinner is our main fundraiser each year.
